The 1993 Annotated Software Engineering Bibliography

Annotated bibliographies are invaluable aids for researchers and others searching for guidance to the literature on a technical topic. The DACS Software Engineering Bibliographic (SEB) database was established to provide a readily accessible source of comprehensive information on the state-of-the-art in software engineering and software technology. The SEB database is composed of texts, technical reports, theses, journal articles, proceedings, and other documents relating to software engineering, reliability, costs, quality factors, maintainability and other appropriate topics. The documents are obtained from the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), professional societies, and publishers. Each reference in the SEB includes a bibliographic citation, availability information, keywords, and an abstract. In addition to annotated citations, volumes in the Software Engineering Bibliographic Collection include "Keyword in Context (KWIC)", "Keyword", and "Author" indices.

The DACS provides users access to the SEB collection by producing periodic annotated bibliographies. These bibliographies, the Software Engineering Bibliographic Collection (Volumes I through 93.0), provide access to over 15,000 software engineering and software technology citations. Researchers may request a custom search of the SEB database or refer to one of the ten volumes comprising the SEB Collection.

Past volumes have been released in Document Accession Number (DAN) order, where a DAN is internally assigned by the DACS. To increase the usability and currency of annotated bibliographies, future volumes will be organized to cover documents published in a given calendar year. The new volume, 1993 Software Engineering, is the first supplement that changes the range of documents from DAN sequence order to publication year.

The new volume 1993 Software Engineering, previous volumes of the Software Engineering Bibliographic Collection, and custom bibliographic searches are available from the DACS. For more information about DACS products and services, contact:
