The Army Software Metrics System Newsletter is an informal publication sponsored by the U.S. Army Operational Test and Evaluation Command. The Newsletter is intended to provide a continuous source of information on current activities in U.S. Army Software T&E. The Newsletter provides follow-up information on the initiatives in Army Software T&E which were recommended by the Software T&E Panel (STEP). The Army initiatives for software T&E procedures and metrics are formally promulgated by the current drafts of Army Regulation 73-1, "Test and Evaluation" and Department of the Army Pamphlet (DA Pam) 73-1, Part 7, "Software Test and Evaluation Guidelines." The Newsletter will provide informal, current information to supplement these publications during the implementation of new software T&E policies and procedures. Newsletter articles may include any issues which impact the effectiveness and suitability of US Army software-intensive systems, both Automated Information Systems and Material System Computer Resources.
